A recent social media message from Celtic captain Scott Brown might well have pointed towards the Hoops skipper being fit to play in Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final against Hearts.

Brown missed the league match against Hearts on Sunday with a toe injury. He only appeared after the game to pick up the Premiership trophy.

However, Brown’s comments on his Instagram account seem to point towards him taking some part in the game.

“One more big push”

“Fantastic day yesterday. Lads did so well in game and to finish nine points clear to clinch eight in a row. One more big push is needed next weekend now” he said.

It could well be that Brown is just the man to give Celtic the ‘big push’ that is needed to clinch the treble. There is no doubt that if it were up to Brown he would play in the game.

Desperate to play

He will be desperate to be the first player to lead the Hoops to three domestic trebles. However, there has to be a doubt about his availability for the game.

Shaking off a toe injury won’t be the easiest thing to do. If Brown was fully fit, he would have played in the recent league game against Hearts.

However, you get the feeling that nothing is going to stop Brown from leading the Hoops out at Hampden Park on Saturday.
