On the face of it, Celtic don’t look to have much hope of getting through to the last 16 of the Europa League. The Hoops need to overcome a 2-0 deficit against Valencia, in the Mestalla Stadium.

However, the Hoops do have the players more than capable of getting of pulling off what would be a sensational victory in Spain.

Here, we examine three players who can make the difference for the Hoops against Valencia.

OLIVER BURKE

Burke has done well for the Hoops since joining on loan from West Brom in January. He has scored three goals in nine appearances so far, which is a decent return. His main contribution to the side though, is his breakneck speed. If Brendan Rodgers starts him on the wing against Valencia he could cause them all kinds of problems. That would suit him and the club far more than his appearances up-front have so far.

The January signing on loan from PSG is the definition of an impact player. Similar to Burke, his pace is his main asset, but he could play a key role from off the bench. He seems like the ideal player to run at a tired Valencia defence, which would find it very difficult to stop him.

SCOTT SINCLAIR

One of the most experienced players in the Hoops side, he has often been a match-winner in Europe, most recently scoring the winner against Rosenborg. After an indifferent start to the season he has bounced back and has scored 16 goals. His know-how will be key in helping the Hoops in what could well be a fevered atmosphere.

If the Hoops manage to pull off the aggregate victory in Spain, it will be one of their greatest European triumphs in recent years. These three players will be key in getting the job done.
