When Celtic face Hearts in the Scottish Cup Final, there is one player in the Tynecastle side that the Hoops support will be keeping a close eye on.
That player is striker Uche Ikpeazu. The attacker looks set to shake off an injury to play in the show-piece occasion.
The reasons Celtic fans will be keeping a close eye on Ikpeazu are two-fold. Firstly, he is probably Hearts’ most dangerous player.
Style of play causes problems
He doesn’t score that many goals. He only has eight for this season. But his style of play can cause defences all sorts of problems.
The second reason fans will be intrigued by the player is that he has been linked with a move to the Scottish champions.
Linked with a move
The Sun reported that both Celtic and Glasgow rivals Rangers were interested in signing the player in the summer transfer window.
Therefore, if Ikpeazu impresses in the cup final, there could be a chance that the Hoops make a move for the player in the weeks to come.
Obviously, Celtic fans won’t want Ikpeazu to turn in a match-winning performance. But he could give the likes of Kristoffer Ajer and Jozo Simunovic a tough game. Should that happen, the calls will be made for the Hoops to make a move for the player.
Then it will be up to the Celtic board to decide if Ikpeazu is a player that should be pursued. We shall know more on that front after the cup final.
