Celtic are reportedly interested in a Ligue 2 striker. The Scottish Sun has disclosed that the Hoops are running the rule over Paris FC attacker Silas Wamangituka.

The report claims that the striker has been watched by Neil Lennon recently, who would reportedly cost the Hoops £4.5 million to buy.

Wamangituka has scored nine goals for his team this season.

There are a few things to take from this report. Firstly, the fact that Neil Lennon is involved in scouting players for next season all but guarantees that he will be managing the Hoops next season.

Secondly, £4.5 million seems like a lot of money for a player who hasn’t even hit double figures yet in the French second division.

European giants have reportedly scouted player

He must have something about him though. The report claims that Barcelona and Liverpool scouts have been watching the player.

Lastly, spending big money on another striker could indicate that a change in formation lies ahead. The Hoops have favoured playing one attacker this season.

But if this player is signed it could be an indication that the Hoops are set to play two strikers going ahead. Only time will tell.

However, fans will be pleased that the Hoops seem to be going about their transfer business early. New signings have to be brought in quickly before the Champions League qualifiers. It looks as if Celtic are getting things done as early as possible.
