Reported Celtic target Tomas Kalas won’t have impressed any watching scouts in his most recent international display.
The Scottish Sun revealed that the Hoops were interested in the player earlier this month. But Kalas turned in a horror show for the Czech Republic against England.
His poor performance was capped with an own goal as England strolled to a 5-0 victory.
Despite the poor display, Kalas has been in excellent form for Bristol City this season. The Chelsea loanee has made 31 appearances for a Bristol City team making a run for promotion to the Premier League.
Won’t end interest after one poor performance
It is unlikely that Celtic, if they really are interested in the player, would end their interest after one poor performance.
Although it is a bit of a worry that Kalas had such a poor performance in such a big game. Kalas’ loan deal at Bristol City only runs until the end of the season, then he will return to Chelsea.
It is unlikely he will make the breakthrough to the Chelsea team, so he could be on the move in the summer. Celtic will be after centre-backs in the summer. Both Filip Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata are likely to leave the club.
Therefore, Kalas could well be on a list of potential signings. If the Hoops really want the player, they won’t take his display against England into account. But only time will tell.
