In 2018, Celtic were interested in signing then Hull City striker Abel Hernandez. Indeed, it was reported that the Hoops offered the player a three-year deal to join the club.
However, he did not join Celtic, and moved to CSKA Moscow. However, the move did not work out for the player, and he was released from his contract at the end of last season.
At the moment, the player is currently without a club. Perhaps Celtic will once more make a move for the player?
Offer something different up-front
He would offer something different up-front for the Hoops. He can play as a second striker as well as a natural forward.
There is also the issue of the Hoops not having enough forwards at the club at the moment. Only Leigh Griffiths, Vakoun Issouf Bayo and Odsonne Edouard can really be described as strikers. That is a decent number, but all three players have had to deal with injuries in their time with the Hoops.
Hoops need to add another striker
Therefore, it would be a good idea for the Hoops to add another striker to the side. Will that be Hernandez? That remains to be seen.
Neil Lennon might not have the interest in the player that Brendan Rodgers looked to have had.
Any move for the player could also come down to money. Could the Hoops offer the player what he would have been earning in Russia?
There is no doubt that Hernandez could do a job for the Hoops. However, there is no guarantee that Celtic are interested in the player.
