With stand-out star Fraser Forster only on loan for the 2019/20 season, Celtic could have big moves to make in the goalkeeping department this summer.
It’s yet to be confirmed whether the Hoops will go all out for the Southampton shot-stopper on a permanent basis.
Manager Neil Lennon acknowledges he’d like Forster to stay (The Sunday Times), but no deal has been worked out and the finances may not fall in our favour, especially during the ongoing health crisis.
On Sunday, rumours emerged regarding a potential alternative to Forster – Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.
However, when you dig into that article from Chile published on Sunday they are in fact themselves citing Scottish outlet Glasgow Live, who are part of the same media group as The Record.
The original source of all this then?
Well it looks to be a piece published by Glasgow Live last week listing players in the English Premier League that Celtic could realistically go for this summer due to their contracts expiring.
That’s a fair enough angle to take but there is no explicit interest in Bravo mentioned and it all appears to be purely speculative and opinion-based.
Apparently wires have been crossed here from Scotland to South America and back to these shores again.
The transfer window being what it is means nothing can be ruled out over the coming months however rumours can pick up pace rather quickly and it’s important for fans to know this is far from a slam dunk link at the moment.
Hangfire on expecting the former Barcelona man at Celtic Park!
