Three teams from the English Premier League are interested in signing Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor, according to a report.

The Scotsman reports that Leicester, managed by former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers are expected to ‘sanction an offer’ for the player in the coming weeks.

The report also claims that Brighton and Watford are interested in the player, that the Hoops reportedly value at £10 million.

It would not be a shock to see Leicester make an offer for the player. Brendan Rodgers made McGregor a mainstay of his Hoops side during time in charge of the club.

Must be kept at all costs

However, the Hoops must not sell the player under any circumstances. No matter how much money is offered for the player, Celtic must keep him.

McGregor is too important to the way Celtic play to consider selling him. Even if David Turnbull arrives at Celtic, which seems likely, that still does not mean McGregor should be moved on.

With doubts over Olivier Ntcham’s future at the club, the Hoops can’t afford to be without two of their most important midfielders next season.

The club should consider selling only one midfielder if any – and that should be Ntcham. All the stops must be pulled out to keep McGregor. He is that important to the current Celtic side.
