John Kennedy has been talking about his first meeting with incoming Celtic CEO Dominic McKay after the start of his transitional period last week.
McKay hasn’t officially started his role at the club but has left the SRU to work alongside current chief executive Peter Lawwell until July.
It’s an opportunity for him to get a sense of how the club functions on a day-to-day basis, as well as plan for next season and beyond.
He made his first trip to Lennoxtown recently to meet all of the staff in the football department.
Kennedy explained to The Scottish Sun: “It was just an introduction. I’d never met Dominic before. He’d obviously come into the club last Monday, so he came into the training ground and met all of the staff.
“We had a very casual conversation along with Peter Lawwell. It was more of an introduction. At the moment the club is looking at things, who they are maybe having discussions with and how they are going to do things going forward.
“So we haven’t had that discussion, in terms of what’s going to happen. We are obviously reaching the end of the season now, so things will have to be decided pretty soon I’d imagine. But the club will be working on that behind the scenes.”
Dominic McKay will be the busiest man at Celtic right now
Kennedy went on to say that McKay knows the club well and understands what’s required over the next period.
It’s set to be a few months of immense change at Celtic.
McKay may well be the busiest man at Celtic Park, with contracts and deals needed for a director of football, a new manager, coaching staff, recruitment staff as well as the usual transfer merry-go-round.

It seems likely he will delegate much of the footballing aspect of the club to others, unlike Lawwell, but he still needs to put in place a successful team made up of the right blend of people.
Let’s hope he’s not bitten off more than he can chew!
