As Celtic get set to head to Wales for a pre-season training camp this week, fans can also watch Champions League rivals Midtjylland for free.

The Danes will face the Hoops in the second qualifying round of the Champions League on July 20th. The first leg will take place at Celtic Park with the return match pencilled in for July 28th.

The comparisons between the two clubs are clear. Top stars on either side are being linked with moves away whilst both clubs get used to having new managers on board. As such, not a lot is known about how new Midtjylland boss Bo Henriksen will try to get the Danish side to play.

Thankfully, Celtic fans and coaching staff can get a look at their foes first hand this week. Our UCL rivals have announced that they’ll be streaming both of their pre-season games in Poland this week before returning home.

Midtjylland are today jetting off to the Remes Sport and Spa in Opalenica. On July 7th, they’ll face Lech Poznan at 4pm Celtic Park Time. They’ll then take on Sigma Olomouc three days later on July 10th at the same time.

Celtic rivals Midtjylland to live-stream both friendly matches in Poland

Midtjylland have announced that both matches will be screened for their YouTube.

Of course, on the same dates, Celtic will also be in action. Postecoglou will take charge of his first two Hoops matches against Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic respectively. Both matches kick-off at 3pm. That means as Celtic kick-off the second half in both of their matches, Midtjylland will only be starting theirs.

Fans have the option of then going onto Midtjylland’s YouTube and watching our rivals’ matches from the beginning. It’s an ideal opportunity for the Hoops supporters to get a glimpse of a Midtjylland side slowly getting up to speed. The same side that impressively took down Malmo in Sweden last weekend.

Granted, Henriksen’s side will have several key stars missing from the camp. Swedish midfielder Jens-Lys Cejuste is resting after his Euro 2020 exploits with Sweden. First-choice goalkeeper Jonas Lossl is still on international duty with Denmark.

But even so, a host of the club’s top stars will take part. Whilst it’s going to be a big week for Postecoglou as he prepares to stamp his own mark on Celtic, he may want to glance over to Midtjylland’s stream at some stage and analyse what Henriksen is trying to do with his own club.

In other news, Celtic will reportedly only have to pay £150k for last week’s bargain move.
