Hibernian have today released a statement containing vital information for Celtic supporters heading to Easter Road on Wednesday night.
Ange Postecoglou’s men will take the dangerous-looking journey to Edinburgh this midweek looking to make it 5 consecutive wins in all competitions. The victory would be a key sign of the progress made under the manager too given it’s been 7 years since our last league win in Leith.
Hoops supporters have enjoyed some brilliant away trips already in recent weeks. Since the reintroduction of an away Celtic allocation at Livingston last month, trips to Aberdeen and Motherwell have given the players and manager a greater chance to bond with the fans.

It’ll be the same on Wednesday as Hibs open up for a travelling allocation at Easter Road. But today, Hibs have released some vital information for Celtic fans as they reiterated the importance of having a vaccine passport to gain entry:
“We trialled our system against Dundee United in our last home game, and will now role this out for every match day starting with our match against Celtic, on Wednesday 27 October. This does mean that there will be spot checks at all entry points of the stadium. Any supporter failing to prove their vaccine certification or exemption status will, in compliance with the law, unfortunately be refused entry.
“We would accept both digital and paper copies of your vaccination status, but would advise supporters to use a paper copy if possible due to the reported issues with the NHS Scotland Covid Status App. We also believe this will be the quickest way for you to gain entry to Easter Road.
“To meet the regulation provided by the Scottish Government, we will be undertaking random spot-checks in all four stands at Easter Road. With this in mind, and the fact we are testing our process for this, we will strongly encourage supporters to arrive earlier than usual. On arrival at the ground, please have your certificate ready just in case you’re stopped randomly, this will make the process quicker for everyone.”
Hibernian confirm Covid Passport rules ahead of Celtic visit
Hibs have also stated U18s, supporters that can’t be vaccinated for medical reasons, and participants in vaccine trials as the only groups that will be exempt from showing a vaccine passport.
The Edinburgh club have stated that those who are medically exempt or partaking in vaccine trials must bring proof of their status. Otherwise, they will also be refused entry.
Celtic’s SLO has also provided some important travel information for supporters ahead of Wednesday’s game too. He released the following on Twitter just hours ago:
Interestingly, Hibs have twice moved in their statement to acknowledge that this isn’t their own decision. That this is something being enforced upon them by the Scottish government.
Granted, many Celtic fans will have already experienced the vaccine passport rules already. Spot checks were in place for our recent games against Ferencvaros and St Johnstone respectively. So none of this should be taking anyone by surprise that turns up on the day.
This is, after all, the new normal when it comes to large-scale social events.
