The Celtic supporters have been quickly getting behind the club after the decision to ban Rangers fans from Parkhead on January 2nd.
After the Ibrox club refused to allow Celtic supporters entry into their own stadium on August 29th, the Hoops have hit back to deny them access to Celtic Park in the new year.
The Scottish Sun reports that the Bhoys are open to holding further talks with Rangers to reach an agreement for future derbies. However, for now, Celtic have made the brilliant decision to stand by their fans.

The saga regarding away supporters at derby matches began back in 2018. Rangers slashed Celtic’s allocation at Ibrox from 7,000 to only 900. Celtic would reciprocate, and since then, away-fan attendance levels in the Glasgow derby has been hugely restricted.
Celtic have always maintained that they would be open to bringing the fixture back to normality. However, unfortunately, there are no signs as of yet that Rangers are willing to do the same.
Celtic defend their own supporters but tensions with Rangers continue
Many will argue that Celtic should be the bigger club here. That we should show a higher level of class and give Rangers their away fan allocation. But it’s difficult to see why on earth we should bow down to them when so many of our own supporters were robbed of a derby match earlier this season.
Yes we can talk about taking the high ground. In an ideal world that’s exactly what we would do. But in doing that, all we’re doing is allowing Rangers fans to experience something the Celtic support wasn’t allowed to.
This is simply the Hoops sticking up for its own fan base. You can hardly blame them for doing so. When Rangers decide they want to get around the table and behave like grown-ups, Celtic will be happy to oblige. But until then, you can’t have a pop at the club for doing the right thing.
And it’s clear many Celtic fans think the same as they reacted to the news today:
