It’s fair to say Celtic have undergone a big improvement over the last month with 6 wins in our last 7 matches.
It’s easy to see why that is. Ange Postecoglou has been able to count on some of his bigger players this month. The likes of Kyogo Furuhashi and Callum McGregor have returned from injuries whilst Jota has integrated further into the starting XI and become more settled.
However, it’s fair to say that Celtic still have further squad boosts on the way.

In recent weeks, the Hoops have had to do without summer signing Carl Starfelt. In addition to that, we’ve still been awaiting the return of Frenchman Christopher Jullien who’s ben out of action since December 2020.
But in a major boost for Celtic supporters, both men are due to be back competing for their spots after the upcoming international break.
Celtic have 11 games between the end of the internationals and the new year. Both men’s respective injury returns then will certainly be welcome.
Carl Starfelt and Christopher Jullien set to add to Celtic squad depth
Starfelt picked up a hamstring injury in the 0-0 draw with Livingston last week. Postecoglou would confirm days later that he’ll return to action after the internationals [Alison Conroy].
Jullien, meanwhile, has been back in training since last month. After 11 months out of action, the former Toulouse centre-back is close to a return. Again, Postecoglou stated that the player should be targeting a spot in the team after the current internationals [Celtic TV].
The Hoops have been operating with Stephen Welsh and Cameron Carter-Vickers at the back over the last week. The club has suffered badly from a lack of depth at centre-back since the beginning of the season.

However, with Starfelt and Jullien closing in on big returns, Postecoglou has a decision to make.
It will be interesting to see whether Starfelt simply takes his place back given he is, after all, an Ange signing. Or perhaps he’ll stick with Welsh and Carter-Vickers for now. Maybe Jullien will be given a surprising appearance after the break.
In any case, they should all be available going by the manager’s comments. Hopefully, that’s exactly what comes to pass.
