Dundee United fully expect the game with Celtic to go ahead on Sunday despite damage done to the stadium by Storm Arwen, Football Scotland has reported.
Last night, the Scottish Sun claimed the game this weekend is in doubt. This was due to the fact that significant damage had been done to Tannadice by the recent storm. United confirmed on Monday that the stadium would need to be assessed after Dundee City Council closed the road outside.
The report stated that United were trying to fast-track repairs between now and the game. And Football Scotland have now claimed that United will find out the full extent of the damage to the stadium at some stage today.

However, despite the uncertainty, United are said to be extremely confident that the 12pm Sky Sports clash will indeed go ahead according to Football Scotland.
Celtic will be praying it does. Should we beat Hearts tonight, Rangers will then have a chance to end next weekend 7 points ahead in the Premiership. That will only be the case if the game is called off however.
The Hoops already have a hectic fixture schedule between now and the winter break, with 10 games still separating us from the 3-week break.
Celtic desperately need Dundee United clash to go ahead
Some may look at it and think that it would be a touch ideal if the game was called off. After all, it would give the Celtic players a rest and at an ideal time with so many games coming up between now and the beginning of January.
However, the truth is we simply need the momentum. We can’t be letting Rangers go 7 points clear. What that can do for the club mentally is more draining than many may think. And you then get to a point where you wonder where the game will be fitted in.
The bad weather has still to come into Scotland this winter too. You would expect some call-offs in the early stages of 2021. So any free midweeks we do have next year may need to be filled with games that are still scheduled to go ahead. We can’t assume we have all these dates available.

Celtic also have the squad to cope with the rigours of a hectic schedule. That’s exactly why Ange Postecoglou carried out the rebuild he did over the summer. A few more additions in January will only help our cause too.
But the prospect of this one being postponed is a headache we can do without. We don’t need the fixture backlog and certainly don’t want to be playing catch-up for much longer in the title-race.
Regardless, Celtic’s main focus will be on putting Hearts to the sword at night. But even so, they’ll be praying United manage to get their stadium repairs sorted well in time for Sunday’s kickoff.
