Superb scenes have emerged from the Tony Macaroni Arena after Celtic ran out comfortable 3-1 winners over Livingston this afternoon.
The Hoops secured a fantastic 3 points as goals from Daizen Maeda and James Forrest sandwiched a Nicky Devlin own goal as we head back down the M8 with a 3-point cushion over Rangers once more.
It’s the first time Celtic have won in West Lothian since a Scottish Cup success in 2007. And it’s clear the Celtic supporters made the most of it as they celebrated in style with their post-match celebrations:
Celtic have made it a habit of celebrating with supporters after every away-day success. However, you get the feeling that there’s extra emotion attached to this one given our previous results at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
Many had this one down as a match in which Celtic wouldn’t pick up maximum points. A game in which we had little chance of winning given the hoodoo that Livingston seemed to have over us.
But Ange’s men absolutely smashed that theory this afternoon with a big display as we take another step closer to the league championship. And you can see exactly what it means to the supporters:
Ange Postecoglou the toast of the Celtic support after another big day
This result was just so important for the football club. Not because it was always going to be a difficult encounter, but the fact this has been a real problem for previous managers and squads. Both Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon failed on attempts to win on this venue.
Even Ange suffered defeat when he first visited back in September. It hasn’t taken him long to figure it out though, and on another day this could’ve been a lot more than 3-1. Celtic had Livingston whwere they wanted them after 55 minutes and missed several big chances to add to their advantage.
But it’s another feather in the Postecoglou cap. He’s ended a 4-year barren run that managers before him had failed to. These are the kind of things that read extremely well for supporters.

Celtic’s ability to bounce back from setbacks has also been on show over the last week. After last Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Hibernian, we’ve beaten both St Mirren and Livingston respectively to get right back on the horse. You simply can’t deny that this group of players continues to show more and more title traits.
It bodes well as we continue to show real improvement in key areas of our game. To think we would be in this position at the start of the season would’ve been laughed at at best.
Today was another statement day for Ange and his players. We’re getting closer, and supporters can sense it.
