The Celtic supporters have done it again as the Ayr Bhoys CSC came up with a class new tune for right-back Anthony Ralston.
Ralston has undergone a major revival this season after many believed his Hoops career to be over in the summer. However, he’s proven an integral part of Ange Postecoglou’s first-team squad this season, playing a key role in our domestic fortunes.
And as he continues to impress supporters on a weekly basis, travelling Celtic supporters have come up with a new tune for the Hoops star mimicking Darren Styles’ Come Running:
Ralston was one of the stars of the show in the 3-1 win against Livingston yesterday. Coming in for the popular Josip Juranovic, he again showed just how much he’s improved this season with another assist to his name.
The Celtic support have come up with a host of new songs this season for the likes of new signings Josip Juranovic, Kyogo Furuhashi, and Liel Abada respectively. Not to mention Ange has had a fair few chucked his way too.
But there’s something that just feels right about Ralston joining the club. He’s shown fantastic commitment to the club this season, and continues to display the kind of attitude and passion we want from all of our players at Celtic.
Anthony Ralston has stunned every single Celtic supporter this season
Ralston’s contract was initially extended in the summer for a further year. It’s fair to say the reaction was absolutely one-sided and not in the manner you would see now. Many believed it was a key sign of the idea the club had failed to prepare for the season ahead.
That’s no slight on the supporters either. I was one of them too. He was just returning from an uninspiring loan campaign with St Johnstone and his future here looked bleak if you were being kind to him. To say he had even earned his extension would’ve been an insult to supporters’ intelligence.
But it’s clear he’s knuckled down and taken on board Ange Postecoglou’s style of play. There’s a confidence to his game now that’s finally arrived after being given an extended run in the senior side. He was handed a new 4-year deal back in November, and the reaction couldn’t have been more different.

Now, Anthony looks a solid one-v-one defender, a competent passer of the ball, and a real threat going beyond the winger to get crosses into the penalty area. He already has 7 assists to his name despite not being our first-choice right-back [Transfermarkt]. That’s astonishing stuff.
So it’s great to see the supporters delve into their creative streaks and come up with some recognition for Anthony in the form of a new song.
Expect this to be belted out at Celtic Park in the coming weeks. If anything’s a true sign of how much Ralston’s turned things around, it’s this story in particular.
