They say that you can’t predict what will happen in a Celtic vs Rangers match, but these days you can certainly predict the build-up.
Injury stories will be flying around – check. Supporters will be getting nervous as they await to see who will earn the bragging rights – check. And of course, you have the Rangers fans going into full-scale delusion because they believe the world is against them heading into it – check.

Indeed, Celtic have had to listen to their fair share of negative headlines this week. We’ve to listen to potential injury concerns regarding the likes of Tom Rogic and Daizen Maeda. Rangers, meanwhile, have had to go through the same with Alfredo Morelos and Aaron Ramey.
Of course, then, that means the media is pro-Celtic and quite clearly trying to unsettle our rivals. Right? That’s what they apparently want you to believe at least. Or perhaps they’re just getting terrified at the thought of losing to Celtic this weekend.
So much so that you can see them getting their excuses ready. This will be one of them. That the media tried to unsettle Rangers in the build-up. Or some other nonsense similar to that.
Celtic have Rangers exactly where they want them, and the truth is they don’t like it
It’s difficult to know what the media would gain out of saying a couple of Rangers players might be injured. If that’s the best they can do as part of their apparent pro-Celtic agenda then I have to say I’m disappointed. Surely they can do something better than that to give us the boost they’re clearly so desperate to give us.
It’s just nonsense from a desperate support looking for any excuse to explain our success. It actually says a lot about how Ange has gone about his business this season that he has them so rattled.
You can understand it to an extent. They know that if they lose to us this weekend then the title race is over. On their own turf against a Celtic side who look hungry for the points and appear keen to wrap this title up as early as possible.
Naturally, then, as a fan base they’re all over the place. Best to get the excuses in early then I suppose. And boy have they started as they try to pretend everyone is against them in the build-up.
