Celtic had Bayern Munich sweating late on in their Champions League clash last night.
Bayern led after Michael Olise had taken advantage of a Greg Taylor error before Harry Kane silenced the boisterous Parkhead crowd with the second goal.
Daizen Maeda cut the deficit in half before Alistair Johnston had a late shot well saved by Manuel Neuer as the Hoops poured on the pressure in search of an equaliser.
It might have been a different game had Nicolas Kuhn’s early goal not been ruled out by VAR and the technology also had another big say in the match after Arne Engels had been felled inside the area by Dayot Upamecano.
The referee insisted it was no penalty with the defender having played the ball before stamping on Engels’ toes.
And during his commentary duties, Joe Hart – the ex-Celtic goalie – insisted it was the right decision.

Hart said the right call was made not to give Celtic a penalty
“I’m not sure why it had to go so far, VAR should have picked that up,” Hart said on the challenge.
“It’s just that touch, that touch there he gets just before he lands on Engels’ ankle.
“I think it’s the right decision but Celtic players were not even asking for that penalty.”
It was certainly a contentious moment on the pitch as VAR took its sweet time to call the whistler over.
Upon second, third and maybe a fourth viewing at multiple different angles, ref Jesús Gil Manzano opted against changing his mind despite being called to the monitor which usually means one thing.
Pat Nevin reckons Dayot Upamecano was lucky to escape a pen
But, unlike Hart, one pundit believed it should have been a spot-kick for the hosts who were unlucky to be on the receiving end of the wrong call.
Pat Nevin was on BBC Sportsound duties and he disagreed with our former goalie’s opinion.
Regardless of the original tackle winning the ball, Nevin pointed out the rules.
“That huge amount of time, considering Dayot Upamecano stood on Arne Engels‘ foot in the box… I’m surprised by that,” Nevin said.
“It doesn’t matter if you kick the ball away, you’re not allowed to kick people in the box. Them’s the rules.”
