Celtic comfortably saw off St Mirren this evening in Scottish Premiership action.
Brendan Rodgers‘ men did face a barrage of Buddies chances in their 5-2 victory at the SMiSA Stadium with Stephen Robinson’s hosts putting in a shift and pushing Celtic the whole way.
Jeffrey Schlupp opened the scoring with his first goal for the club before a brilliant Declan John free-kick levelled proceedings. It was 2-1 before the break thanks to an Arne Engels penalty but Killian Phillips equalised again after the break.
Second-half goals came through two Yang headers after the South Korean international had come off the bench to provide an attacking threat with Daizen Maeda also netting after moving through the middle when Adam Idah came off.

Stephen McGinn says Yang has ‘reignited’ his Celtic career
For BBC Sportsound co-commentator Stephen McGinn, it was the 22-year-old who made a difference on the pitch. And he reckons the playmaker has “reignited his career” at Celtic having stuttered early doors.
“Give a bit of credit to Yang who has reignited his Celtic career,” McGinn said after watching the attacker net a brilliant header beyond goalkeeper Zach Hemming.
“But I think Celtic are a different level when Daizen Maeda is through the middle.”
It is certainly not the first time Yang has been applauded for his contributions this season even if some sections of the support still don’t quite rate him as highly as the likes of Nicolas Kuhn and Jota.
What has been said about Yang at Celtic this season?
We told you how manager Rodgers spoke in detail about Yang and his expectations of the playmaker on the wing improving to become a key man in Glasgow.
Yang continues to develop under the boss and playing with top players can only improve him as a talent.
Owen Hargreaves also credited Yang following Celtic’s defeat to Bayern Munich in the first-leg of their Champions League knockout playoff as the Englishman said at the time that Yang changed the game.
“Yang and Jota coming on really made a big difference but Celtic need to play like this in Munich, like they did in the final 20 minutes,” he said.
“High energy, pressing. And you never know, you can spring a surprise.”
