Celtic will turn Glasgow green and white this Christmas with the club to take over 23 top advertising hotspots in the city.
The move is being sanctioned by partner Ocean Scotland in a bid to increase awareness about the Celtic FC Foundation’s Christmas Appeal.
Back in July, Ocean Scotland provided the club with 30 prime advertising spots to highlight and promote the foundation’s Football For Good Fund. And the club’s official charity partner has provided big for the cause once again by giving away 23 of their ad spots.
Speaking after receiving the generous donation, Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive Tony Hamilton said the following on the club’s official website:
“I would like to extend our gratitude to Ocean Scotland, who have yet again shown phenomenal support of Celtic FC Foundation.
“Their donation of advertising space in July to promote our FFGF, was absolutely crucial in helping us to share the message of the impact made until that point. Their support on this occasion will be just as important, as we aim to encourage as many of our supporters as possible – who are in a position to do so – to get involved in our Christmas Appeal.
“A huge thank you to Chris Trainer, Marc Keenan and the team at Ocean Scotland for all of their support.”
All about making a difference once again
Back in July, Celtic’s Football For Good Fund was set up to help those hardest hit by the ongoing health pandemic. This included vulnerable families, pensioners, as well as aiming to help primary school pupils and NHS frontline staff.
This Christmas, the foundation is looking to lend a helping hand to those who can’t afford what many of us may take for granted at Christmas. This involves ensuring that kids across Glasgow, as well as the homeless and refugees, have some of the luxuries that many are able to enjoy every year.
The club is looking to target local families who aren’t as well off and provide them with more of a normal Christmas than they may be able to afford this term.

It’s another big-hearted move from the club and indeed Ocean Scotland as the nation tries to come together in the wake of a rip-roaring pandemic that has caused much devastation in Glasgow in particular.
The Christmas Appeal is effectively a phase of the Football For Good Fund, and can be backed in a number of ways. Whether it’s donating financially, or by taking part in one of the club’s sponsored events, there are plenty of ways for those to help out who are in a position to do so.
Details of how to back the appeal can be found here.
