Celtic fans have reacted with disillusionment to the news that Neil Lennon will remain as Celtic manager.

Despite being 19 points behind Rangers in the table after a disappointing defeat on Saturday, the board are backing Lennon. The Scottish Sun reported last night that Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell still believe that the former captain will turn the club’s fortunes around.

Suffice it to say, it hasn’t gone down particularly well. Especially with the club on a controversial mid-season training trip to Dubai.

In the midst of a global pandemic (BBC), and particularly tight lockdown rules being imposed in Scotland, it’s more bad PR for Celtic.

As previously discussed, the move to keep Lennon in the context of what’s happening with Celtic is a strange one. At the very least, the board could’ve decided to leak their decision to the press after the PR storm around Dubai had settled.

Bhoys supporters spoke vociferously about the Lennon news, with some critical of how the story broke.
