There was one major absentee from the Celtic training video posted this afternoon – Odsonne Edouard.
If you’re like me, you watched that training vid closely. It was posted by the club during late Tuesday afternoon, and for many, it will have been a case of spot who’s missing.
Celtic saw 13 players return to first-team training this week as we look to bounce back from the Dubai and Covid set-backs. Many of those included key players. However, with a second positive case occurring yesterday with a player that hasn’t been identified, Celtic fans are playing a guessing game.
And today’s video provided some hindsight into who it could be. The likes of Kris Ajer, Leigh Griffiths, Ryan Christie, and Mohamed Elyounoussi were just some of the bigger names to return to training. They were all snapped. However, eagle-eyed fans managed to notice that Eddy wasn’t part of things.
He wasn’t the only one. Olivier Ntcham also wasn’t spotted in the images. But Edouard is the standout player and continues to be the first name on the Celtic team-sheet. You can watch the video for yourself below:
Celtic training video gives us a fair idea of who second positive case is
It remains to be seen if it is Edouard or Ntcham who tested positive. But given it was their countryman, Christopher Jullien, who was the first case, it wouldn’t be surprising. You would imagine the three spend plenty of time together.
Of course, there’s nothing concrete. Nothing to confirm that it is either of the Frenchmen who have picked it up. But it’s fair to say Celtic would’ve done their best to include Eddy in particular in any training video. Not least to ease supporter concerns.

He wasn’t a part of any of the individual shots and couldn’t be seen in any of the group sessions either.
The supporters have managed to pick up on it too, with a few questioning whether he is indeed the second positive. With a crucial match against Livingston coming up tomorrow, we need all of our key players back fit and ready.
