The Celtic fans have been showing plenty of affection and love for a late-night clip of Hatem Elhamed.
The departing Israeli landed home last night as he gets set to confirm a move to Hapoel Be’er Sheva. It had been reported yesterday by the Scottish Sun that the switch was due to be completed yesterday. However, there has still to be official confirmation of its completion.
Even so, it looks like a goer, with Celtic set to bank as much as £800k for the unsettled right-back [Sun].
One of the main reasons Elhamed is heading home, if not the only reason, is to be reunited with his family. With his wife and son based back in his homeland, this move was always inevitable.
Elhamed will leave Celtic having made 30 appearances for the club. However, most notably, he’ll depart a treble winner after playing his part in last season’s success during the first half of the campaign.
Celtic fans appreciate Elhamed efforts
Injuries and a growing lack of game-time have pushed Elhamed back down the pecking order. And that combined with his family situation has led to a late move whilst the Israeli transfer window remains open.
And late last night, his agent Dudu Dahan, well known to Celtic, published a touching video on social media. It showed Hatem being reunited with his son after arriving back home.
It was a brilliant moment and was a symbol of why he’s making the move in the first place. As of yet, neither Celtic nor Be’er Sheva have confirmed the transfer. However, there have been no reported snags in the deal either, and it looks a certainty to finalise imminently.
And supporters were able to see last night just why he’s decided to head home.
Reacting to the late video published on Dahan’s official Twitter account, here’s a look at some of the positive messages from the Celtic support:
