Celtic training video post flooded with Eddie Howe teases from supporters

The Celtic supporters have been making their calls for a new manager heard loud and clear, with a particular focus on who they want in the door.

Yes, the resounding answer appears to be Eddie Howe. Or at least that’s how it’s been made to look if you look at the replies to the club’s most recent training video.

Celtic sent out their customary pre-match training video yesterday. It’s generally done to give supporters an insight into what’s going on behind-the-scenes in an attempt to boost morale. For the most part it does so, but fans only had one thing on their minds yesterday – a new manager.

Howe has been linked with the Celtic post since before Neil Lennon even departed [The Sun]. He’s been out of work since leaving Bournemouth back in August. However, his double-promotion success with Bournemouth as well as their sustained un in the English Premier League under his watch hasn’t been forgotten by Hoops supporters.

Still no update; but Celtic fans clearly want Eddie Howe

Celtic have continued to keep fans in the dark regarding their hunt for a new boss. It’s fair to say some supporters are now getting impatient. With no real improvement in performances since interim boss John Kennedy took over, fans want an updat on the club’s long-term future.

Celtic still have five Premiership matches as well as the Scottish Cup ties to negotiate. It could easily be the case that no appointment is actually made until after Kennedy’s interim reign is over. Celtic have proven in the past that they like to give their temporary bosses time to see the job through.

However, the cataclysmic season we’ve just had as well as the scale of the rebuild needed makes this a special case. Fans want a name now, and almost every tweet or Facebook post put out by the club is filled with demands for an update.

And on Celtic’s most recent training video, the supporters clearly had their Eddie Howe hats on as they nailed down who they want the club to announce.
