Celtic have announced a transport boost for supporters looking to head to the Women’s teams’ SWPL game against Dundee United on Sunday.
Fran Alonso’s side has made a strong start to the season, winning nine of their 11 games, suffering a draw and a loss in their other two outings.
Currently, the Ghirls sit in 3rd place in the Scottish Women’s Premier League, just one point behind Rangers and two behind league leaders Glasgow City.
Celtic had the chance to overtake their Glasgow rivals in the league last weekend. But, both sides played out a stalemate, meaning the table remained as it was.
This weekend, Fran Alonso and his team will be looking to get back to winning ways when they face off against ninth-placed Dundee United.
The Hoops came out on top, winning 4-0 the last time the two sides come up against one another back at the end of October.
With no first-team action during the World Cup in Qatar, Sunday’s clash offers supporters the chance to continue their Celtic fix.
The match takes place at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie, kicking off at 4:10 PM.
This afternoon, the club also announced a travel boost for fans looking to attend, confirming that a shuttle bus will be running to and from the stadium.
Airdrie train station is just over a mile walk from the ground, taking around 24 minutes.
However, supporters won’t need to worry about that, with the announcement that shuttle buses will be travelling to the Excelsior Stadium.
For all fans with a ticket for this weekend’s game, a free shuttle bus service will be running from the Airdrie train station car park, with the service commencing at 2:40 PM.
The service will also run in line with three other trains arriving from Glasgow, which are at 14:42, 15:11 and 15:42. The shuttle bus will then be available to transport fans back to the training station after the game.
Celtic will be hoping this move can entice a large crowd to Airdrie to get behind Fran Alonso and his squad this weekend.
It offers the perfect opportunity for those who can get along to see the Ghirls in action as they continue their push for the league title!
