After a busy run of fixtures for Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic, we’re now entering another international break, but there remains plenty of interest for supporters throughout the two weeks.

Not only is the manager taking his side to Sligo Rovers for a midweek friendly in Ireland, but Celtic FC Women are also embarking on their historic UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage.

They’ve drawn FC Twente, Real Madrid and English champions Chelsea after superbly coming through the qualifying rounds for the first time ever.

The first match against FC Twente is on Tuesday night at New Douglas Park in Hamilton, the women’s side new permanent home.

The 8pm kick-off promises to be a special occasion. It has also captured the imagination of the support, with fan groups uniting to provide big backing.

Green Brigade and Bhoys come together for Celtic European night

The Green Brigade, Bhoys and North Curve Celtic fan groups have announced their presence at the match in a dedicated section behind the goal.

They’ve asked the wider support to join them in numbers. Three blocks have specifically been set aside to join in with the noise and colour that an ultras section uniquely brings.

Two of the sections are selling well so far, with hundreds of tickets sold, and there will hopefully be plenty more late purchases over the next 24 hours.

This kind of backing and atmosphere can really help the Ghirls in their pursuit of victory at a new level of competition.

Big night for Elena Sadiku’s side still to come at Celtic Park

Celtic have also announced one of the group stage games, against Chelsea, will take place at Celtic Park, promising an exciting night under the lights at Paradise.

That comes on Wednesday, 13th November, during the next international break for the men’s side.

The European run is going to be far from easy. Celtic were pot four seeds and have never experienced this tournament. Twente, Chelsea and Real Madrid all provide unprecedented danger.

However, with a bit of magic from the stands and the confidence that Elena Sadiku has given them, everyone is hoping they can be competitive.
