If you haven’t been following the Celtic FC Women’s team in recent months you’ve been missing out.
In contrast to the men’s side, passion and determination has shone through in spades. That, along with Fran Alonso’s brilliant work and an incredible run of results has been a breath of fresh air for many supporters.
As we discussed at the weekend, Celtic are now on the brink of securing Champions League football for the first time and even have a chance of winning the title.
If Glasgow City lose to Rangers on Sunday and Celtic win heavily against Motherwell, the Ghirls will be champions. That’s as a result of the 10-0 hammering dished out to Forfar Farmington yesterday, heavily close the goal difference gap.
Either scenario, European football or a title win, is historic and sure to be must-watch stuff for Celtic fans.
Great then that the BBC plan to broadcast the match live on their website, as announced today by the club.
That match kicks off at 16:10 on Sunday June 6th.
The uptake in interest in Scottish women’s football and specifically the Celtic team has been one of the success stories of 2021. Our match reports on the team are now amongst our most-read articles on any given day.
