The Celtic juggernaut just keeps rolling on. As the men’s team close in on a potential treble, Celtic Women are set for a return date to Hampden as Fran Alonso’s side beat Glasgow City 1-0 in the Scottish Cup.

A goal by Natasha Flint in the first half was enough to send Alonso’s Celtic through to the final where they now face another Glasgow Derby against Rangers where Celtic can chase down a potential double.

And full time footage caught by a fan at Hampden this afternoon captured just how much today’s win meant to Fran Alonso.

Alonso has had to deal with a couple of turbulent weeks. A media circus surrounded the Celtic boss after he was headbutted by Rangers assistant manager Craig McPherson after a 3-1 win kept them above their rivals in the hunt for a Champions League spot.

And ironically, it was McPherson’s team that handed Celtic a lifeline in the SWPL by beating Glasgow City midweek which leaves the Hoops just two points off the top of the table.

Celtic are set to face Glasgow City next month it what could be a major turning point in the destination of the league title. But next is Hibs on the 30th of April quickly followed up by Rangers on the 3rd of May.

But as for Fran, Celtic fans continue to enjoy having the enigmatic Spaniard in charge of the team. His passion for the club is brilliant which is making him a firm favourite amongst the fans and the players.

But for now, let Alonso enjoy his moment of Hampden glory. The Celtic boss has earned it.
