Brendan Rodgers has always had a reputation for developing talent at Celtic.
In his first spell as Celtic manager, Rodgers brought on the likes of Kieran Tierney after Ronny Deila gave him his big break.
Rodgers also brought in Moussa Dembele and Patrick Roberts and, this season, Celtic fans have witnessed young Sean McArdle get drafted into the Hoops’ first-team squad.
And it seems the Parkhead gaffer is desperate to see more youngsters come through the Celtic Academy after sending a Trophy Day message to the young Hoops hopefuls.
Brendan Rodgers wants Celtic’s youngsters in first-team ‘quicker’
Celtic fans are fed up at watching the club lose some of their best talents to English clubs over the last few seasons.
But it appears that Rodgers is looking to stop that rot with a message to the Academy that will please the young Celtic talents.
Rodgers told The Scottish Sun, “But it’s really about sustaining this club as a respectable, competitive club in European football at the highest level, while continuing to be hungry to dominate domestically.
“On a personal level it’s about more than the trophies.
“It’s how much money can I help bring into the club through the sale of players, improving players and establishing the academy so we can get young players through quicker.”

Callum McGregor and James Forrest now have 50 trophies between them since making the jump from the Academy to the Celtic first team.
With Rodgers looking to replicate their success the likes of young McArdle et al are now being shown that the Celtic manager has vowed to give them their chance.
Fans love nothing more than seeing young Celtic stars come through the academy and hopefully this will be the start of a new chapter for the development of players at Lennoxtown.
