Celtic academy youngster Eseosa Sule has travelled to England in order to complete a move to join Championship side, West Brom.

The 16-year-old may not be a name that many Celtic supporters have heard from the Lennoxtown academy step up.

However, the striker recently signed his first professional contract at Parkhead last June as his career in professional football began to get underway.

Having just turned 16 last year, the Scottish-born attacker hadn’t yet featured for the Bhoys B side, who played their domestic football in the Lowland League.

Instead, Sule regularly turned out for the Celtic under-18s side, managed by Stuart McLaren.

Some of the Parkhead faithful may remember catching a brief glimpse of the young forward in action for the Celtic u17s side, who took part in the prestigious Generation Adidas Cup.

Sule was one of the performers for the young Hoops as they reached the last 16 of the competition after defeating Atlanta United, New England Revolution and Cincinnati FC.

But the Celts were, unfortunately, eliminated at that stage to the hands of Columbus Crew.

The talented striker looks like he had the potential to have a future in the game, and many would have been hoping that was at Parkhead.

However, according to a report from the Daily Record, Sule travelled down south to complete a move to English side West Brom this afternoon.

The youngster is now expected to join the academy set up of the Championship team. Of course, there are current Celtic links at Hawthorns, with former midfielder Tom Rogic playing his football there.

So, Sule will be hoping to work his way up the ranks and make his first team debut someday for the Baggies.

It is a shame to see another talent from the Celtic academy picked up by an England side. We have seen a few young players head south in recent years. However, there is a slight difference in this deal.

With Sule having signed a professional deal at Parkhead, the Hoops negotiated an offer for the striker, which the club reportedly choose to accept.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been looking to implement changes throughout the academy set-up, which may take some time to bed in.

We wish the youngster all the very best of luck on his move to West Brom.
