Attacking prospect Adam Brooks has left Celtic to explore an opportunity with last season’s Scottish Cup finalist opponents Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Brooks has signed a permanent two-year contract with the Scottish Championship side, who hold the option of a third year on his deal.

Celtic confirmed the news on social media site Twitter this afternoon after Inverness CT released their own statement on the signing.

The 19-year-old was a regular with the Celtic B side last season, making 28 appearances in all competitions and scoring a healthy 15 goals in the process.

Now at a critical age for his development, Brooks has outgrown the benefits of the Scottish Lowland Football League and it seems there wasn’t much scope for him making an impact on the senior squad at the Bhoys.

Brooks hasn’t been part of a clutch of young players to have made a senior debut over the last 12 months, with talents such as Rocco Vata and Ben Summers included.

His contract expired at the end of the 2022/23 campaign and clearly, a determination has been made that his future is best served away from the Bhoys.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how he gets on in the Highlands working under Billy Dodds. Although they had a storming cup run, it was a disappointing league campaign in Inverness last year but they’ll again be eyeing a push towards the top end of a very competitive table next term.

The best of luck to Adam with his future career next season and beyond!

In other news, Brendan Rodgers left really impressed with group of Celtic youngsters coming through Lennoxtown.
