Celtic have signed promising u15 youth striker Filip Skorb. In an unusual step, the move was announced on his former club’s official Facebook page late last night.

Portobello Community Football Academy posted late last night saying, “Congratulations to our Under 15 striker Filip Skorb, who today signed for Celtic FC.

Everyone at Portobello CFA would like to wish Filip every success for the future 🇦🇷⚽️”

Described as “free-scoring”, Skorb also received an invite to train at The Magpies earlier this year. [Newcastle World]

It certainly seems as though Celtic have landed themselves an exciting talent and to have seemingly stolen in ahead of EPL sides does seem like a coup for the Celtic Academy side.

Keen on sports from an early age, Skorb was also an athletics champion at u13 level winning the Scottish National Relay championship in 2020. [Power of 10]

You can view Skorb’s goalscoring talents on his Instagram page where he has posted a video of himself scoring two well-taken goals during his time at Portobello.

Of course, this is only the first stage of his early career at Celtic and it is clear this is a talent that the club have sourced for the future.

But there is no doubt that with the help of Celtic’s facilities, coaching staff and sports science behind him, Skorb will have the opportunity to develop his talent and, hopefully, establish himself in the youth side.
