Celtic B coach Tommy McIntyre has confirmed that the feedback from the first-team coaches is that Tobi Oluwayemi is impressing.
Oluwayemi has regularly been involved with the Celtic senior side and has been seen getting involved in pre-match warm-ups with the likes of Joe Hart and Scott Bain.
The youngster has been a regular with the B team this season, but Ange Postecoglou has been keen to have him around. So much so that he’s also been travelling with the senior side on their European travels as well.

And in what’s becoming a productive campaign for the England under-19 international, McIntyre has said the following to 67HailHail about how much Olwayemi is coming on:
“I think every player within the B team have got things they can work on. That’s the reason why they’re at B and you work on that day-to-day whether that’s with Stevie Woods or Colin Meldrum when he comes down.
“He’s an England international – he plays at under-19s with England. He’s showing great maturity for someone so young. He’s growing. He’s going up there and the feedback is that he’s doing really well training with the first-team.
“I think he’ll always improve, he’s that type. So he’s on a good pathway and is in the right place just now. We’ve got great hopes for Tobi.”
Tobi Oluwayemi in an invaluable position as he learns alongside Joe Hart at Celtic
Oluwayemi may have to wait a prolonged period before his big Celtic first-team opportunity comes along. But until then, he’s in an incredible position at the football club working alongside Hart.
Given the Celtic number 1’s UEFA Champions League, England international, and Premier League title-winning experience – Oluwayemi couldn’t ask for a better mentor. If he hasn’t made great strides between the beginning of the season and its conclusion, it would be a major surprise.
Evidently, Tobi is making a fine impression. The fact he’s been allowed to stay up with the senior side says a lot about his talents. Granted, it could still be the case that he’ll need first-team football elsewhere before stepping up at Celtic Park.

The likes of Conor Hazard and Ross Doohan have both been out getting minutes with other clubs this season. However, it still looks as though Oluwayemi is the official third-choice stopper.
It’s been a big season for him, and it’ll be interesting to see how he fares at Celtic Park when the B team face Rangers this weekend. A standout performance from him on Saturday, you have to say, would be yet another big boost for his Celtic career.
But regardless of what happens, he’s making the right impression. Nobody can take that away from him.
