Celtic have been getting roundly criticised for the number of academy prospects that have left the club for nominal fees or even for free over the last few seasons.

Recently players like Rocco Vata have sealed a Celtic exit to Watford and young central midfielder Daniel Kelly has also left the Bhoys to seek first-team football.

Whilst both players showed promise, the one that really stings the Celtic fans is young Ben Doak leaving the Hoops to join Liverpool.

The point is, the talent is there, but the young players in Celtic’s Academy are finding it hard to break into the senior squad which is forcing their hand to leave the club.

And it seems that another bright young talent could be about to leave Celtic with clubs circling as his contract runs down.

Premier League and Italian clubs ‘hot on the trail’ of Celtic prospect Daniel Cummings

The Daily Mail reports clubs from England and Italy are showing interest in Daniel Cummings as the young Celtic academy prospect continues to impress.

The report states, “It’s understood that Sunderland, Wolves, Fulham, Ipswich and Burnley are interested in taking the Glasgow-born striker across the border.

“But Cummings may have options further afield with Bologna, Brugge and Salzburg hot on his trail.”

Interest is clearly high in Cummings as his UEFA League form for Celtic catches the eye of European clubs.

With his contract due to expire at the end of the season, Celtic risks losing the youngster for a nominal development fee if they cannot persuade him to extend his stay in Paradise.
