Celtic youth talent Mitchel Frame has indicated that he wants to stay at Parkhead, the Daily Record reports.

The report claims that Newcastle, Manchester City, and Crystal Palace are all interested in the full-back. However, the player has indicated to Celtic that he wishes to stay.

It comes in the same report that stated that Daniel Kelly was set to stay at Lennoxtown and sign a new contract by the end of the week despite similar EPL interest.

The Celtic youth exodus just hasn’t stopped in recent months. Ben Doak looks like joining Liverpool whilst top talent Leo Hjelde left for Leeds United in the summer.

Ange stated on day 1 at Parkhead that he wants to stop the best young talents from leaving the football club. However, it was clear that was always going to be a long-term goal that wasn’t fixed immediately. A pathway to the first-team was still to be built.

But the news of Kelly and Frame looking to stay and snub the EPL will give everyone at the club a boost in knowing that Ange’s plan is working.

Ange has shown the pathway available for talented and dedicated Celtic youngsters

The pathway to first-team football is there for the Celtic youngsters who are ready to step up and take it. That much has been made absolutely clear this season as Ange Postecoglou sets about trying to end the Lennoxtown exodus.

Take a look at the players involved at first-team level for the Hoops this season. Dane Murray, Owen Moffat, Joey Dawson, Ben Doak. All of these talents have been given games due to the fact they had been showing their worth in the youth ranks.

Opportunity is there. Especially for those who are going to be dedicated to the club and sign on for the long-term.

Sure, cynics will say that the youngsters mentioned above weren’t able to hold their spot in the senior side. That their opportunities eventually came to an end. But it’s important to remember how young these players are. Just getting that taste of senior football will be huge for them.

Ange has shown that when players are ready he’ll throw them into the mix. It’s not something he’s afraid to do, and that will also extend to those who are coming through the ranks.

So if Frame commits to the club along with Kelly then the duo are certainly doing it at the right time.
