Celtic have uploaded highlights of today’s brilliant 5-2 B team derby win over Rangers in the Scottish Lowland Football League.

Celtic supporters were given the chance to watch the youths in action at Paradise this afternoon and the team didn’t disappoint those who turned out thanks to goals from Rocco Vata, Joey Dawson and Kenzie Carse.

Darren O’Dea and Stephen McManus’ team had to come from behind twice to secure the victory, showing impressive resilience. All five goals can be seen via the club’s Twitter account or embedded below.

The first goal, to make it 1-1 on the day, came after a brilliant Ben Summers run on the left flank, with his cross expertly finding Vata who swept the ball home.

Celtic’s second equaliser at 2-2 came from Kenzie Carse after the Bhoys capitalised on slack Rangers play just moments after the away side had taken the lead in the second half.

There was then a Charlie McCann own goal to put the Celts ahead after a strong run and cutback from Ben McPherson.

Substitute Joey Dawson was the hero in stoppage time, netting a quickfire double to truly punish the visitors and pile on the misery.

First, he reacted quickest to Vata’s fierce saved shot before getting on the end of Ben Quinn’s pinpoint back post cross.

It’s a result that should fill the B team with renewed confidence heading into 2023 after mixed form in the Lowland League in the opening stages of the season, as the fixtures piled up in other competitions.

With league form now their main focus, hopefully, we can see the youths make a big push towards the top of the table, where Rangers still sit as leaders.

Regardless, today was the perfect way to end 2022 and a class warm-up for the senior sides squaring off at Ibrox on Monday.
