Teenage Celtic talent Rocco Vata made his presence felt in an Ireland U17s international at home to Andorra last night.

Vata, son of 1990s cult hero Rudi, created a goal and scored one of his own in a 5-0 victory.

The FAI posted official highlights of the goals on Twitter earlier today, where Vata sets up the second and scores the last.

You can see the trickery and skill he possesses, specifically with his assist as he jinks through the opposition defence.

The 16-year-old is having a fantastic season for club and country.

After signing professional terms with Celtic over the summer, he now regularly stars for Celtic B in the Scottish Lowland Football League and is making great progress within the Irish set-up.

He’s still too young to be thinking about making a step up to the first-team, but there is certainly confidence and ability there at the moment which is worth keeping an eye on.

Elsewhere, fellow Celtic B teammate Bosun Lawal captained an Irish U19s side tonight in a friendly against Sweden in Marbella.

Lawal helped his team to a creditable 2-2 draw and further enhances his reputation as a big leader for his age group.

Good luck to both players in their second set of matches over the coming week.
