We told you earlier that Celtic B Team managed to snatch a draw against Queens Park at Newlandsfield Park earlier today, and it was a screamer from Scotland youth international Tsoanelo Letsosa that did the damage.
Letsosa, who was wanted by Leicester City and former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers in 2020 [Leicester Mercury], has had an impressive season. He’s becoming known for scoring important goals, with today’s Glasgow Cup strike just the latest.
It’s the nature of the goal he scored, too, that makes it extremely worthwhile. And dutifully, Celtic have uploaded highlights from today’s game for all to see.
With barely any time left, the ball is advanced from a throw-in about halfway into the Queens Park half.
From there, it’s carried forward, and Letsosa finds himself receiving a pass about 4 yards into the box. He moves the ball onto his left foot, and absolutely smashes it past the Spiders’ goalkeeper. And I mean smashes it.
Take a look here, at 2.59 [Celtic FC]:
Quite formidable stuff from Letsosa, and what a way to secure a point.
Young Tsoanelo is a former Pollok FC youth product, was raised in Lesotho, and is being tipped for a big future with both Scotland and Celtic.
He first signed for the Hoops in 2017, after being spotted playing for Glasgow south-siders Pollok.
For the Celtic B Team, it was an afternoon of positives.
Facing SPFL opposition, a 3-3 draw was more than creditable. Joey Dawson and Karamoko Dembele joined Letsosa on the scoresheet, with the latter finding fitness after a long injury lay-off.
Tommy McIntyre, speaking after the game, called it a “really pleasing result”, after an entertaining battle in the Glasgow Cup [Celtic FC].
Celtic B Team star Tsoanelo Letsosa is another name to watch
We’ve heard and seen from a bunch of B Team talents this season. Joey Dawson, Owen Moffat, Ben Doak, Dane Murray; they’ve all played for the first-team.
Certainly, they all look promising in different ways. However, Letsosa has built his case to feature under Ange in 21-22, and it’s not a sudden thing.
All season long, Letsosa has provided real creative output, as well as scoring important goals for the Bhoys. A midfielder with boundless energy and end product, he’s been a star man for Tommy McIntyre this season. And he’s yet another example of the B Team really bringing players on, in terms of development.

While yes, we’re at the business end of the season, there will surely be more opportunities for young players. Tobi Oluwayemi has been on the cusp of the Celtic squad, while the aforementioned Moffat, Doak and Murray have all played. Joey Dawson was agonisingly close to a debut goal, and Karamoko Dembele is regaining his fitness.
There’s a truly exciting future ahead for Celtic. And Letsosa is very much a part of that.
Especially if he keeps hitting scorchers into the top corner!
