Don’t let English Premier League fans ever tell you they don’t rate Celtic or Scottish football talent.

It appears that more than a couple are envious of the prospect of Odsonne Edouard moving to Leicester City.

Indeed, TalkSPORT journalist Jason Bourne reported yesterday that Edouard could be on the move for between £15m-£20m. Personal terms have apparently been agreed, with just the transfer fee to be resolved.

The prospect of Edouard leaving for the Foxes won’t come as a surprise to Celtic fans. He’s heading into the final year of his contract and hasn’t looked up for the fight at Parkhead for a long time.

Even so, his numbers this season still read well. With 22 goals and six assists in 40 appearances, it looks from the outside as if he’s had a stunning campaign [Transfermarkt]. But whilst the stats don’t lie, we know he hasn’t been at his best considering we know what he’s truly capable of.

English football fans wish they were signing Celtic star Odsonne Edouard

Celtic fans have had a long-standing issue with the lack of credibility out players and achievements get down south. So many English Premier League fanboys simply can’t bring themselves to even acknowledge the talent we have up here.

That is of course until their clubs actually want them. Then all of a sudden they become good players worth talking about and even signing up. Edouard falls into that category.

Two years or so ago, nobody down south would even be glancing at the Frenchman. He would likely just be another Scottish football dud who has found his level in what many down south still refer to as the “SPL”. Perhaps showing just how disengaged they are.

But with top-four bound and FA Cup winners Leicester seemingly eyeing him up, his stock has risen. All of a sudden, supporters from the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle, and Everton have been showing their envy at the deal.

Here’s a look at what many have been saying as Celtic seemingly close in on a big-money sale:

In other news, a centre-back Celtic could’ve signed for nothing last summer could now be on the move for £15m.
