Latest Tom Rogic injury issue has Celtic fans fed up

Celtic fans may have been perplexed at the fact Tom Rogic didn’t make an appearance on Sunday.

We were 2-0 down for long spells and struggling to make any impact on the game. Rogic started on the bench, and even as things got desperate, John Kennedy still wouldn’t call upon him.

Rogic made the matchday squad of course, but he remained rooted to the bench. Celtic didn’t struggle when it came to creativity of course, but the fresh legs could’ve been a boost.

Kennedy yesterday came out and explained why the Aussie never featured. He stated via Celtic TV that Rogic had “issues” the day before the Rangers game and then proceeded to struggle during the warm-up. Why he was then on the bench is anyone’s guess, but Celtic didn’t use him whatsoever.

Of course, Tom Rogic struggling with an injury knock is hardly major news to Celtic supporters. It was the same in the first two months of the season when he was recovering from injury. And, in fairness, over the last several years, Rogic has suffered countless knocks that have kept him out of action.

The Tom Rogic injury and fitness issues have never gotten better

There’s also the continuous problem of him never completing 90 minutes either. Rogic hasn’t managed a full game of football since October 2019.

Celtic came close to selling Tom back in the summer. He was set to complete a reported £4million move to Qatar before it fell through [Scottish Sun]. If we can get anything close to that this summer, it’ll need to be taken. He’s been a fine signing since arriving under Neil Lennon back in 2011, but the time to move on has come.

Because the Hoops faithful is rapidly losing patience with Rogic. His consistent injury knocks and lack of ability to complete 90 minutes make many come to believe that he’s now past his prime.

And despite the fact he’s fit to feature tonight at Pittodrie, the Celtic fans have been reacting to him not being ready for Ibrox, and are now calling on him to depart this summer.

Here’s a look at what many of the supporters are saying:

In other news, John Kennedy has confirmed who will be taking Celtic’s penalties moving forward.
