4 changes, fresh attack: Celtic Predicted XI vs Ross County
Savour this Celtic fans – it’s your last weekend of competitive club football until after the World Cup. It will be a long month until the Bhoys return to entertain us but hopefully we can go out with a bang today.
Ange Postecoglou’s side host Ross County at Celtic Park in an effort to at least maintain a seven-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership, which would be fine reward indeed for domestic form in the opening stage of the campaign.
What kind of team will the manager go for today? Here’s our best go at his eleven ahead of the official team news…
Joe Hart will, of course, be in goal again for the Bhoys given his importance to the group and ahead of him in the defensive line there are unlikely to be too many changes.
However, I could see Anthony Ralston coming in for World Cup-bound Josip Juranovic on the right flank.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt are likely to continue their partnership while Greg Taylor could round off his excellent early-season form with another stint on the left.
In midfield, it would be a surprise if Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate didn’t again start as crucial components of this midfield without Callum McGregor.
Aaron Mooy returned to the lineup on Wednesday night but I could see David Turnbull starting once again as part of Postecoglou’s regular rotation. The Scotland international is looking increasingly sharp after a spell of injury issues.
In attack is where it may look freshest. Sead Haksabanovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis could both come into the team at the expense of Liel Abada and Kyogo Furuhashi following midweek exertions, leaving Jota as the sole survivor of the front three.
Your predicted XI in full is: Hart, Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Taylor, O’Riley, Turnbull, Hatate, Haksabanovic, Jota, Kyogo.
