Celtic did what they do best last night as they swept Aberdeen aside.
Daizen Maeda hit another excellent double before goals from Jota, Callum McGregor and Yang sealed the points in what was a comprehensive 5-1 win at Celtic Park.
Jimmy Thelin’s Aberdeen were blown away as the Hoops opened up a 16-point lead at the Premiership summit with Rangers’ new coaching staff to take their side to Kilmarnock this evening in an attempt to claw back the insurmountable.

Some phenomenal football lit up Parkhead last night including wonderful goals watched by a packed out crowd of more than 58,000 punters.
But there were some unseen moments captured on Celtic’s Unique Angle footage which showed off the real team spirit within the Hoops camp including a teaching moment, shared celebrations and more.
Here 67 Hail Hail takes a look at some interesting points of note from the club’s captured clips.

Auston Trusty’s advice for Jeffrey Schlupp
You are never too old to learn.
Schlupp has been solid since he arrived on January’s transfer deadline day, with the Ghana international being given plenty of opportunities to challenge Greg Taylor.
He arrived to play left-back despite preferring to play in midfield but his grounding in the Premier League as Mr Versatile for the likes of Leicester City and Crystal Palace has made him the ideal utility man.
Still, after Celtic opened the scoring with a Maeda volley, centre-half Auston Trusty seemingly used the moment as a chance to talk Schlupp through some things on the pitch as the pair embraced before getting back to work.
Raging Graeme Shinnie dresses down Ross Doohan
Ross Doohan didn’t get a crack at a Celtic first-team jersey but he has done well enough since leaving Parkhead in 2022 on a permanent basis.
The goalkeeper had a number of loan spells away from Glasgow before he exited for Tranmere Rovers and he has found himself back in Scottish football with Aberdeen.
A recent run in the team has done wonders for his confidence but it was not a great night for the 26-year-old who shipped five and took pelters from his captain after the first goal.
Shinnie was apparently livid that Doohan refused to come out to collect a looping ball which hung in the air before dropping to Maeda and, after the finish, the Scotland cap let his stopper know how he felt.
Jota shares the love
Jota has excelled since crying tears of joy after his goal against Motherwell on his second debut for the Bhoys.
The Portuguese is now well and truly back in the swing of things and scored again with a sclaffed finish to make it 2-0 last night.
That didn’t matter much to him, of course. But during his slide celebration, the 25-year-old blew the kisses to three sections of the support before one more for good luck as his teammates approached to congratulate him.
Callum McGregor staring down the barrel
Celtic’s captain Callum McGregor has developed a taste for goals this season and hit his ninth with a well-placed touch with his weaker foot.
As he wheeled away in celebration – with the Dons players furious at what they felt was a foul in the build-up – McGregor stared directly into the Unique Angle cam as though he’s now used to knowing exactly where it’s placed during matchdays.

Alistair Johnston’s shared appreciation
Daizen may have put the ball – and himself – in the net at his second goal late on last night but it was a goal made perfectly by Alistair Johnston.
The right-back has been terrific this campaign and that was his ninth assist in all competitions.
It was a brilliant, whipped delivery for his pal and as Maeda was applauded, Johnston was also swarmed by teammates – rightfully so – for putting the ball on a plate for Maeda.
The Japanese frontman also reserved special attention for his pal who also earned congrats from debutant Jude Bonnar.
