Celtic must beat Utrecht in the final Europa League group fixture if Martin O’Neill wants to guarantee progression into the knock-out phase.
O’Neill also knows that a draw could be enough to see Celtic into the next phase of the Europa League, but to guarantee it, a win over Utrecht is a must.
Celtic’s draw at Bologna was a brilliant result for the Bhoys and kept automatic qualification hopes in O’Neill’s hands.

My predictions have been shocking this season so let’s hope this one comes to fruition.
With so much on the line, Martin O’Neill will have the Celtic team fired up for this one. My only fear is that the squad will be tired after playing with ten men for two intense games in a row.
Having said that, being at home I expect a Celtic win but it won’t be easy with our forward line still lacking in creativity and finishing.
Prediction: Celtic 1 v 0 Utrecht

Win and we’re through to the next round of the Europa League. Sounds simple really when you put it like that. Under any other manager I’d have feared that this is the end of the run.
But, when it’s our lord and saviour Martin O’Neill, I feel we are capable of anything. These sorts of nights under the lights are the best at Celtic Park and I think we will go on to win, with a cheeky helping hand from Vasilis Barkas.
Prediction: Celtic 2 v 0 Utrecht

Home game. Celtic have done well under O’Neill in Europe, and I think they will get the job done, albeit nervously.
“I can see Utrecht scoring, perhaps opening the scoring, but I will still back the Hoops to win. I will go for Yang with another goal, and McCowan to come off the bench to get the winner.
Prediction: Celtic 2 v 1 Utrecht

One rule with Celtic in Europe over the last decade has been that more expectation leads to more potential for disappointment.
I try not to expect anything at this point. But under O’Neill across both spells, we’ve been exceptional at home.
We couldn’t have asked for a better fixture to close off our Europa League season. I’m cautiously positive.
Prediction: Celtic 2 v 0 Utrecht
