Ange Postecoglou has confirmed Celtic defender Adam Montgomery is “ready to go” for the match at home to Ferencvaros tomorrow afternoon.

Montgomery missed out on Celtic’s trip to Motherwell on Saturday after picking up a knock in training last week.

However, he is now set to start against the Hungarians with Boli Bolingoli ineligible for the Europa League group stage fixture.

Postecoglou said in his press conference today [Celtic FC]: “This is a game we’ve got to win if we want to keep our hopes alive. No shying away from that – we need a win tomorrow.

“We’re definitely better prepared. We’re more settled and had more time together as a group.

“Adam Montgomery’s available. He trained with the team yesterday and today, he is ready to go. The rest will be very similar to the weekend.”

With a lack of options at left-back, Montgomery’s return was key.

The only other viable option without him would have been throwing Liam Scales in at the deep end for his first-ever Celtic start. That would not have been ideal given the importance of the fixture.

Bolingoli is not registered for Europe so his only action in the immediate future will come from domestic matches, even though he played well on Saturday.

With no other injury concerns, the manager will have a strong squad to choose from. Expect to see a pretty similar line-up to what we witnessed at Fir Park.
