Albian Ajeti is in line to make a surprise Celtic start against Ross County tomorrow after Ange Postecoglou delivered updates on the situations of Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis.

As we discussed earlier, Kyogo is confirmed to be out for at least three or four weeks after picking up an injury on international duty with Japan.

Meanwhile, Ange confirmed he is being cautious about the introduction of Giakoumakis considering he has barely had a pre-season or played any matches since the end of the last campaign. [Celtic YouTube]

It all means that Ajeti could be brought in from the cold having not started a match for the club since way back on 17th February against Aberdeen.

He seems the most likely candidate given Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths have both left the club.

Ajeti has featured off the bench on five occasions under Postecoglou and has been regularly included in matchday squads even when not getting minutes.

Having also spent the entire international break at Lennoxtown, he should be fresh and ready to impress up against the Staggies tomorrow.

In fact, it would be a massive opportunity for him to impress and show he is capable of playing a role at Celtic this season.

Ajeti has failed to consistently show he is a viable solution in the centre-forward position since signing under Neil Lennon. However, now confirmed to be at Celtic for the season and apparently part of the manager’s plans, it’s time for him to step up.

There’s no better occasion than tomorrow, if he indeed he does start the fixture.
