Andy Robertson and John McGinn stunned by Reo Hatate Celtic derby performance
Reo Hatate has captured the imagination of the footballing world tonight after his stunning performance for Celtic against Rangers.
The Japanese midfielder scored two stunning goals and assisted another in a 3-0 victory that puts the Bhoys one point above the Ibrox side at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
No doubt he has impressed many outside of Scotland tonight, but two English Premier League stars couldn’t help but take to Twitter tonight to salute the Celtic hero.
Aston Villa star John McGinn was first up, suggesting Hatate was something of a magician.
Then Liverpool superstar Andy Robertson got in on the act to share his joy with the Hatate display.
Hatate has had a quick start at Celtic, but unbelievably, Postecoglou still thinks there’s a long way to go with him and that’ll get even better.
The Bhoys boss told Sky Sports after the match: “Reo is great but it’s hard for me to single out people because I thought the whole side was outstanding. We know he’s got quality and he’ll get better. We’re building him up slowly. We’re not the finished article.”
If this is Hatate being built up slowly then we’re in for a real treat over the coming months, my friends.
He’s had a Kyogo Furuhashi style impact at the club with sensational goals and committed play.
With him in midfield and other emerging superstars all over the pitch, this Celtic team are on an incredible journey towards serious success.
