Ange Postecoglou has confirmed Josip Juranovic and James McCarthy will return to contention for Celtic vs St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership tomorrow.
Juranovic has been missing with a hamstring issue, while McCarthy has also been absent since the return from the international break.
However, both could be in included in the match squad, as reported by Radio Clyde’s Alison Conroy, who is at today’s broadcast press conference.
The return of Juranovic is a particular boost and he could well start on the right or left of defence in place of Anthony Ralston or Adam Montgomery.
Postecoglou will again have Boli Bolingoli available on the left flank too. He was ineligible to play against Ferencvaros on Tuesday afternoon.
Juranovic has looked a solid acquisition since arriving in the summer transfer window but still needs more games to forge partnerships with his teammates and get fully used to the style of football under the current manager. He has still only made five appearances in a Celtic shirt.
McCarthy’s fitness is positive news too. He’s struggled in the early stages of the season, by Postecoglou’s admission. However, it’s clear his latest injury setback wasn’t serious. He is most likely to start the match on the bench but could come into the game in the second half.
With James Forrest and Christopher Jullien edging closer and closer to a return too, it’s all positive on the injury front these days at the Bhoys.
