Ange Postecoglou had another injury update after Celtic win over Dundee United
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou seems to spend half his time talking about injuries and squad depth these days given the ongoing issues at the club.
The Bhoys boss still doesn’t quite have the depth needed to maintain a hectic playing style and even more hectic schedule.
It came to the fore again today, with winger James Forrest forced off at half-time just a few games after returning from another injury.
However, Postecoglou believes it was done so simply as a precaution rather than as an outright injury.
Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland [13:55]: “We will just wait and see. He felt a bit tight in his hamstring. We decided that with the game the way it was going it was better to take him off at half-time.
“It was good for Liel [Abada] to get out there as well. I don’t know if it’s anything serious. But it was more of a precaution than anything else.”
Hamstring issues have been really prominent in recent weeks. Both Tom Rogic and Carl Starfelt missed time, while Jota has been ruled out for a ‘few weeks’ this December after pulling up against Hearts on Thursday night.
It’s far from ideal, but the team continues to play well and win matches. The players who came into the team today at Tannadice did very well. That bodes well for the fixtures ahead.
