Ange Postecoglou rules out wildcard additions to Celtic UEFA squad list
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has ruled out making wildcard additions to his UEFA squad list ahead of the tie against FC Midtjylland.
As we discussed this morning, UEFA have announced the squad submitted by Celtic.
However, there are some notable absentees including Olivier Ntcham, Liel Abada and Kristoffer Ajer.
Per UEFA rules, Celtic have until 11pm tonight to add two more players.
But Postecoglou confirmed in a press conference today he’s not interested in making additions to what has been submitted.
Speaking on the official club YouTube account, he said: “In the next 24 hours? No, I’d love to but, mate, that’s not a wildcard, that’s a miracle card. None of those exist at the moment.

“It’s quite evident we need to bring more players in. As I explained on Saturday it’s a challenging time. It’s not just about signing players. It’s about when they’re actually available for you to play with all the restrictions in place at the moment.
“The squad list we’ve announced is the one that’ll go into this game and this fixture.”
So, we know who Postecoglou will be working with for this encounter.
The list announced isn’t particularly inspiring. We’re weak in a number of key areas, especially in defence.
It’s looking like a tough ask to see off the Danish Superliga runners up.
Though, as we know, they are hardly in great shape themselves right now.
I’ll never write off Celtic completely, and a part of me still thinks we can do the business, but the smart verdict on this tie is that it’s a 50/50 toss-up. Too close to call.
We shouldn’t be in that position given our resources. But we are. Let’s hope Ange can pull something out of the bag.
