Even after Rangers secured a rare derby win over Celtic, their supporters still can’t even act with class, as they showcased at Ibrox on Thursday.
Celtic went into the game 14 points clear at the top of the Premiership table and, after winning the League Cup final last month, they were aiming to pile more misery on their rivals and their manager, Philippe Clement.
But it wasn’t meant to be because Brendan Rodgers’ side didn’t even turn up and deservedly suffered a 3-0 defeat.
Rodgers’ overall record against Rangers is pretty strong – 16 wins before the post-New Year encounter and only one defeat, which came from his first spell.
Not only has that now doubled, but Clement has also won his first game against Celtic and it just gives the champions a wake-up call.
Celtic midfielder Arne Engels struck by a missile from the Rangers end
Heading into stoppage time, Arne Engels, who replaced Reo Hatate after 75 minutes, was preparing himself to take a corner, alongside Luke McCowan.
But he was struck by a missile from the Rangers end and a host of Celtic players went over towards their teammate, including the on-field referee, Don Robertson.
Play was stopped. The referee then picked up the object and handed it to the fourth official on the touchline before play resumed.
Thankfully, Engels was fine, he was able to continue and the match was able to conclude.

What Neil McCann and Chris Sutton said about Engels being struck by a missile
As mentioned above, this is a rare derby win for Rangers, so you would have thought that their fans would enjoy the moment because it doesn’t come around often.
At 3-0, in stoppage time, the game is done and dusted. The points are Rangers, but as per, idiots like to spoil it in their own way and it was called out by the Sky Sports commentary team.
Chris Sutton was pretty clear in what he had to say on the matter, as ex-Rangers man Neil McCann explained how he was disgusted by it, as he told Sky Sports Football (02/01/25).
“Absolutely ridiculous, isn’t it?!” responded Sutton.
Neil McCann then added: “That’s disgusting. You don’t want to see that. I am sorry but there is no place for that in football.”
